Dog shows
Dog shows are probably the acitivity, from which brazilian terriers are best known in Finland. Most TB´s love to perform. Match shows and puppy shows are good places to practise before going into official shows and at the same time they are good places to socialize your dog at young age. There´s plenty of information about the dog shows in the Internet and you can always ask tips from your breeder.
Agility
(Picture coming) Brazilian terriers are quick and they learn easily - if the ears are around ;) - so agility suits them really good, although the greatest breakthrough for TB´s in finnish agility fields is yet to come. There are some puppy courses from agility, that are a good start if you consider to compete in agility later in the future, but it´s never too late to learn it. With under 1-year-old dogs should be patient and careful, in order to avoid physical damages with too hard training. Best way to teach your dog agility is attending courses, because if you teach some obstacle etc wrong, it may not be easy to fix it later. And even if you don´t think of competing, agility can be a fun hobby for both - the handler and the dog!
Obediance
We train all our dogs basic obedience, it´s essential for the every-day-life. We haven´t competed in obediance, but there are also useful courses that you can attend to and train. It would be great to see more TB`s competing in obediance some day!
Cycling with TB´s
(Picture coming) It´s important to exercise your dogs. We wanted to write about this part of exercise, because cycling is something we do with our adult TB´s about a two times a week, at summer seasons. Cycling is a good way to build muscles and it´s good for the dog´s condition and health. It´s also a nice complement to all other training we do with our dogs and they also think it´s so much fun!
REMEMBER: Always, no matter what, warm your dog up before going on cycling with it, and don´t forget to strech your dog after the exercise! Use also right kind of equipment. Don´t start with too hard or long routes.
